EfficiencyOne and Verschuren Centre sign MOU for collaboration, research and partnership

(Dartmouth, NS/Sydney, NS) – EfficiencyOne and the Verschuren Centre for Sustainability in Energy and the Environment (Verschuren Centre) at Cape Breton University signed a memorandum of understanding today to explore strategic collaboration over the next two years.

“E1 and the Verschuren Centre are like-minded organizations and we are excited to begin our work together,” says Stephen MacDonald, CEO, EfficiencyOne. “In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be outlining areas of common interest that will help to foster sustainable growth in Nova Scotia and grow the capacity of both organizations.”

“With a shared capacity to assess and deploy both efficiency tools and novel technologies toward storage and interconnectivity, the two parties have complementary assets to help industry and community partners improve the sustainability of their energy mix,” said Beth Mason, CEO, Verschuren Centre.

The Verschuren Centre, based in Sydney, NS, is an industrial solutions, development and deployment center, advancing sustainable resource management in its key fields of expertise – renewable energy, bio-processing, and agri/marine industries.

EfficiencyOne based in Dartmouth, designs and delivers resource efficiency programs and services to residents and businesses throughout Nova Scotia.

EfficiencyOne is an independent, non-profit organization based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It has helped more than 400,000 program participants complete efficiency projects. In 2018, EfficiencyOne programs enabled Nova Scotians to reduce CO2 emissions by one million tonnes.
