The Report details EfficiencyOne’s 2022 performance and results and highlights the important contributions that energy efficiency has made in achieving the province’s climate action goals...“In 2022 EfficiencyOne continued to transform the way people use energy the impact of energy efficiency has been significant across the province,” says Stephen MacDonald, President and CEO, EfficiencyOne. “Investments in energy efficiency can help move families out of energy poverty, make homes more comfortable, and help businesses improve their bottom line.” 2022 Highlights include: Avoiding over 100,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through programs and services; Supporting over 1,700 Nova Scotians through our low-income, Mi’kmaq and other Diverse Communities programs, including over 240 homes in Mi’kmaq communities through the Mi’kmaw Home Energy Efficiency Project;Executing community blitzes in ten communities across Nova Scotia to bring our Efficient Product Installation program to rural communities across the province saving 2.25 GWhs of electricity;Working collaboratively with partners like the Black Business Initiative and Nova Scotia Community College to help educate our future workforce about green careers in the energy sector;Reaching over 24,000 students through Green Schools Nova Scotia; andSupporting 2,600 jobs in Nova Scotia’s energy efficiency sector. “Through our trusted experience, EfficiencyOne continued to help people achieve their energy goals, save money, conserve resources, improve wellbeing, and combat climate change,” says Bill Lahey, founding Chair of the Board, EfficiencyOne and President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of King’s College. “The report highlights the important contributions energy efficiency makes in achieving Nova Scotia’s climate action goals while supporting economic and social development.” The report includes EfficiencyOne’s 2022 financial statements, along with details on how EfficiencyOne and its partners continued to support climate action across the province.
